  • Do I need to switch to another meter or test strips?

    No, your OneTouch® Meters and Test Strips will continue to be reimbursed under Medicare Part B. You won’t have to pay more and you can still get them from either retail or mail order. OneTouch® is the #1 recommended brand by diabetes educators and endocrinologists.

  • What is happening with Medicare and my OneTouch® Diabetes Supplies? What does it mean for Medicare Patients?

    First, your OneTouch® Diabetes Supplies will continue to be covered by Medicare Part B. You can find them at any retail pharmacy like CVS, RiteAid, Walgreens, Target, Walmart and many others.

    What is changing is that some mail order companies may not offer OneTouch® Diabetes Supplies and may try to switch you to a different brand. You can keep receiving your OneTouch® Test Strips without interruption by calling one of our approved mail order suppliers. They will take care of billing Medicare and/or your supplemental insurance.

  • Will I have to pay more for OneTouch® Diabetes Supplies?

    No, under Medicare, all products are reimbursed at the same rate. You won’t pay more to get the #1 recommended brand by diabetes educators and endocrinologists.

  • What will my diabetic testing supplies cost me on Medicare?

    Your OneTouch® Meter and OneTouch® Test Strips are still covered under Medicare Part B. With supplemental insurance, patients will pay $0 out-of-pocket.*

  • I use Home delivery through my neighborhood pharmacy. What about that?

    Local home delivery will no longer be an option for pharmacies without a CMS contract. In order to receive diabetes testing supplies at home, you will have to use an approved mail order supplier. You can get your OneTouch® Test Strips without interruption by calling one of our approved mail order suppliers: CCS, American, or AMMED. They will take care of billing Medicare and/or your supplemental insurance.

  • What is competitive bidding?

    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will implement the national mail order competitive bidding program on July 1, 2013. The program will reduce reimbursement rates for diabetes testing supplies. It will reduce the number of mail order companies approved to provide these supplies to Medicare patients. All retailers will have the ability to provide supplies to Medicare patients.

  • I use Medicare Advantage. Am I affected?

    No, if patients are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO) or commercial managed care plan, will not be impacted.

  • What is happening with insulin pumps and pump supplies under Medicare?
