Multiple Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, the legendary blues guitarist B.B. King has played over 15,000 performances in a career spanning more than 50 years. In 1991, B.B. was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. So, besides playing concerts around the world and running his many B.B. King Blues Clubs, he is also an advocate for those with type 2 diabetes.
During the 2010 season of American Idol, Crystal was hailed as a “raw, natural talent.” But in the midst of the competition, Crystal was hospitalized because of complications from her type 1 diabetes. After recovering, she returned to the competition, finishing as first runner-up and the top female performer that year. Now Crystal performs, records, and works to bring more awareness to diabetes.
